What is Thyroxyl

Thyroxyl (Cytomel) is a trademark of the substance Liothyronine Sodium. This is not a steroid, and thyroid hormone. It is used for medical purposes for controlling thyroid insufficiency, obesity, metabolic disturbances and fatigue. This is a synthetically reproduced thyroid hormone T3. When being used, Thyroxyl increases metabolism of the patient resulting in faster absorption of proteins, fats and carbohydrates by the body's cells.
